Irey Commits to Bethel University

WATERLOO, Iowa — Fri, May 29: Waterloo Warriors, Jake Irey, will play hockey at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, this coming season. Irey, a three-time All-League forward, will major in economics and finance and later attend law school. Bethel competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Harcharik Moves to DI Hockey

DES MOINES, Iowa — Fri, May 29: Joseph Harcharik (Des Moines Oak Leafs 2005-06) will play Division I hockey this season at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Harcharik played three seasons of junior hockey for the North Iowa Outlaws. Last season he became the NAHL's all-time Leading Scorer and all-time Career Points Leader. Harcharik still holds the MHSHL single-season record for most goals and points.

Sioux Falls Joins League

ANKENY, Iowa — Sat, May 9: The Sioux Falls Flyers join the MHSHL this coming season after their petition to join the League was accepted at Saturday's spring meeting.

The Flyers have been competing in the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association and are nine-time Varsity tournament champions. The association's top players will compete at the Varsity and JV level in the MHSHL, while additional Varsity and JV teams will continue to compete in the South Dakota league.

The Flyers will replace Tri-City in the West Division after the Jr. Storm exited the League at the end of this past season.
