Team Reps Frequently Asked Questions
|
Before the first regular season game, each team must submit a "Protected List" to the League Commissioner. It is a list of the team's top-ten players, regardless of position, ranked 1 through 10 (1 being the team’s best player). The intent of this rule is to exclude the ten best Varsity players from competing at the JV level of competition. Exceptions: Should a JV team have 12 or fewer players for a game, excluding goalies, they may draw from the Protected List to attain 13 skaters for that game, starting with the number 10 player and working up, regardless of which position they typically play. The protected list can be revised one time prior to teams playing 40% of their regular season games.

Each team lines up on their goal line facing each other. The visiting team is introduced first. The starting 6 players are announced and skate to the blue line as their name is called, facing the opposing team. After the starting lineup is introduced, the remainder of the team skates to the blue line, facing the opposing team. The 6 starting players for the home team are then introduced and skate to the blue line as their name is called, facing the opposing team. After the starting lineup is introduced, the remainder of the home team skates to the blue line, facing the opposing team. Both teams then remove their helmets and turn to face the American flag for the National Anthem, which will be played before every Varsity game.

If still tied at the end of the five-player shootout, a one-player, sudden-death shootout will continue until a winner is determined. Players cannot shoot more than once during shootout until the entire roster has been selected. Jr. Varsity regular season: Jr. Varsity state tournament: If teams are tied at the end of regulation in consolation bracket games, there will be a five-player shoot out. Yes. Schedule changes can be made on an individual, game-by-game basis, if agreed upon by both team reps. What the League wants to avoid are teams making arbitrary schedule changes that give their team an advantage or to tweak the other team. Be sure to report any schedule changes to the webmaster and League officials.

| Is there any recourse if a team feels an error has been made on the official score sheet? | |
|
Yes. The team representative is responsible for reviewing the score sheets prior to the referee signing off. When a team feels an error has been made, the team representative should appeal to the referee and official scorer before the score sheet is signed by the referee. The referee and official scorer have the final word. Penalty infractions cannot be changed by anyone once play resumes after the penalty has been called. However, if a player has been wrongly credited with a penalty, that can be corrected. |
